You probably know that the situation in the Red Sea is not expected to be resolved in the near future. Shipping companies do not expect their ships to sail into the Red Sea again anytime soon, due to the threat of further attacks.

The route around the Cape of New Hope extends the transit time from Asia to Europe by another two weeks. In our opinion, the situation will worsen, as the temporary consequence of the increase in transit time will be a lack of transit capacity. For this reason, we ask you to place your orders as soon as possible and be prepared for possible delivery delays.

In addition, shipping companies have introduced various surcharges to cover force majeure situations. These include, for example:

- War risk

- Transit Disruption Surcharge (TDS)

- Contingency Surcharge (CAC)

- Emergency Contingency Surcharge (ECS)
